Mr. Andy Wong, MBA and Mr. Peter Hill, CPRW will share proven career management methodologies gleaned from their more than 22 years of combined careers industry experience. Going well beyond vague theory, they will introduce common-sense ways to think about managing your career and provide you with specific tools for doing so. Module 1: You and Your Job Search • Explore the job search process, understand the impact of job changes, and prepare a “Reason for Leaving” statement. • Use a personalized DISC Behavioral Assessment report to gain insights into your strengths, interests, values, and preferences that will lay the groundwork for your résumé and your approach to the market. ** Registered participants will take an online assessment prior to the training date. The resulting report will be distributed on the day of the program. • Develop a visual tool that will integrate your assessment information and develop a “map” for your job search. Module 2: Your Résumé • Learn 3 proven writing strategies to get your résumé noticed by recruiters and hiring authorities. Module 3: Tools for your Career Research • Identify research needs, the resources available, and how to use them. • Understand networking strategies, identify who to contact and when, and learn how to conduct informational and referral meetings. • Learn how to use job ads, recruitment agencies, and search firms to your advantage.
